The month of March is here and we know the beauty of this month. This month heralds the arrival of the spring season, especially in our area after a long snowfall in the winter every year.
So everyone is waiting with full hope for the spring. The trees, grass and other creatures of God come to life again after being temporary dead .We seek the blessings of Almighty God on the earth for every human being and other creatures. This year the month of March is not just a month or a different season but a month that can bring a drastic change in our beautiful motherland. A vast majority of my Chitralian brothers and sisters are ready to celebrate the famous historical festival of Nowroz on March 21, so my deepest congratulations to all of you and happy Nowroz Mubarak .At the end of this piece of writing; why don’t we all come together and make Chitral a real spring rather than just a season that comes only once a year. This sentence might not make sense right now but as we get on it will be crystal clear.
Our beloved homeland Chitral is full of different characteristics. One of the most amazing and unique characteristics is its peacefulness and brotherhood among all communities. From the last 10 to 15 years our country Pakistan has been burning in a flame of sectarian clashes, political violence and unknown bombing on holy mosques, shopping malls and other public places but by the grace of Almighty Allah our beautiful land Chitral is still a paradise of everyone and welcomes every guest by its fully smiling face like a moon.
My dear brothers and sisters, this is not a miracle nor a nightmare but the credit goes to all of you. You are the real components of the peace and brotherly atmosphere in Chitral, especially in this very difficult time while there are killings everywhere in our country.
But in Chitral there is peace and prosperity everywhere. We acknowledge and salute the religious leaders of different schools of thought, the leaders of different parties, journalists, poets and writers, the district management and the most important pillar, the media and the members of the civil society and NGOs for their utmost struggle and tolerance to keep this peace and let the world know that Chitralis are educated, civilized and peace lovers.
Respected Chitralis, now I would like to draw your kind attention to one of very important issues and foundation (on which we can build our future generation.) I will try to explain with a historical context when the last Messenger of God for the human being, Prophet Muhammad and his progeny migrated from Makkah to Madina. The first step taken by the Prophet was a written agreement between the people of Madina and the surrounding areas to run the day-to-day affairs of the city and this historical agreement is called the Treaty of Hudaibiya. My brothers and sisters, you see how important is this issue? To participate in public affairs is not only your constitutional right and responsibility as a citizen of a country but also is your religious duty to make possible a good decision and to block the negative elements in the society through your vote. In this way, we can make a difference in our society.
In every democratic society, the voting system is first step toward the government either it is local, regional, provincial or federal level. In the May 2013 general elections in Chitral we witnessed and latter on it was proven by the court of Pakistan that there had been huge irregularities and huge rigging in different polling stations and the rights of the people had been stolen by the powerful mafia through backdoor and black money and in this way the mafia tried to change the election results. But thank God due to free and fair judiciary that results had been cancelled and once again the ball is in the public court.
Dear Chitrali brothers and sisters, remember this time the people of my great town will not let the former mafia group and corrupt representatives to steel the fundamental right (vote) of the people. You have to guard and protect your rights. You have to crash them and kick them out through your vote forever Inshah Allah. The back diplomacy will not work this time because the people of Chitral have already realized the reality of their fake, uneducated, incompetent, untalented, no-tolerant and irresponsible political representative from the past many years.
My dear young students, brothers and sisters, a year ago while you were stuck in a hostel in Gilgit during a terrorist attack on the hostel and you were crying for help, remember your elected representatives were sleeping like a handicap fox .This was their basic and very little responsibility to come forward and take care of you but I am very sorry to say no one showed up and our respectable former member of parliament used his personal relationship and efforts to save many lives for which we say big thank you for that we need a leader like that. Now it is your real and utmost time to come out and approach door to door and convince the masses to take revenge from the former corrupt mafia group through their votes, not violence, push them back where they were seven years ago.
Take back the money that was your money and set aside for Athak canal, Chitral-Mastuj road, Reshun powerhouse, different schools, sports stadium, Laspur, Yarkhun valleys and Broghil road. These are a few examples but there are more and more allegations of corruption. Remember your voice, your vote and your right decision is powerful than any weapon in a civilized society so revenge is only acceptable through vote, not violence and personal attack. We do not want that because we believe on a civilized and political society based on justice and tolerance.
Now I am requesting my brothers and sisters in the media please create capacities and courage and explore the evils and tell the very truth to the people of Chitral through your deep research and struggle and show the people the right path. Together we can make a difference in Chitral.
Finally, taking advantage on this occasion, I humbly request the district administration and the Election Commission of Pakistan (Chitral office) to make proper security measures on the occasion of the re-polling in some of areas in upper Chitral so the people can cast their fundamental right in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere and can elect their representative in parliament.
