Girl commits suicide after alleged harassment
ChitralToday that the teenage girl took the extreme step of ending her life after a watchman of the Govt High School Harchin tried to rape her about a month ago. He said the girl was earlier a student of the GHS Harchin but later left the school and took admission in a private school/college of the village. About a month ago, the watchman of the high school allegedly tried to rape her. On this, the girl approached the school headmaster and lodged a complaint against the accused. However, as the school could not take action on her complaint, she reached the GHS on Thursday during the school hours and consumed poison and later died. The Mastuj police took the body into their custody and started investigating the case. However, so far no arrest has been made and the body was in a hospital in Booni when this report was filed at 11:15pm on Saturday. The local people have demanded that the government should carry out an in-depth probe into the matter. They said this was a much more serious case than the beating of students by a teacher in a private school in Drosh which was taken up by the media leading to the arrest of the teacher for corporal punishment.]]>
Very sad news that we are failed to give protection to our young teenagers and still keeping huge gap with them. Even don’t trying to know what are in their hearts. This beast should be hanged. Why the so called social activists and Facebook philosophers are silent and where is the Kpk educational minister? Shame on you the School headmaster
It is so unfortunate. Action must be taken against the watchman for harassment (leading to suicide) and against the head of the school for not taken proper action against the culprit.
