Dilemma of Langlands School and College

By Ilyas Hussain

What a shameful action. Can “Memar e Qom” (founder of nation) take such a step? If the level of educated people who have been attached with teaching in the school for years finally end up with corruption and fraudulent acts by misleading Major G. Langlands, then imagine about the feelings of those thousands of students who studied under their supervision. This truly shows the level of their professional abilities and intellectual level. I saw hundreds of people commenting that Ms. Carey was wrong. Her decisions were wrong. The teachers who were been terminated was illegal action.
Now it is time to ask from ourselves. Why we are behaving like this? Why we don’t value meritocracy? Why are we supporting individuals without knowing the reality? It is like politics. If my family is attached with one party I should also follow that specific one. We are not taught to have difference of opinion and questioning our system either it is Deeni or Dunyawi matter. We follow things with blinkers in our eyes. When and how can this change? I am hopeless after hearing all this dilemma of corruption and fraudulence from “Memar e Qom.”
I am also concerned in blaming all this upon Principal Abdullah and his colleagues of their dishonesty based on the news I see in the media, because honesty and truth in our country are very rare things to find. Look at our media channels, look at the politicians, all those memos which happened during previous government and happening currently in our country. When you listen to the news you think for a moment that may be some big thing is going to happen in our country and everything will change, but end of the day nothing good happens. Where have our predecessors taken us to? We should ask them this question and at the moment we have to ask ourselves what we are going to give to our successors.
I think it is a sensitive issue. If a group of teachers have done such fraudulence then it is a question mark on this pure profession. Those teachers who are honest with their profession must condemn such acts individually so that we get to know that they respect their profession otherwise keeping eyes closed in such matter will show that they don’t care about their profession and quality education. If this news is false then the effected teachers should clarify their position. True change will come when we know our responsibilities properly and follow the law at any cost.
I also condemn the one line comment of Mr Majeed saying that the people who are out to destroy the institution should be grateful that he did not drag them to the court as whatever they did was illegal. Is this one line comment sufficient in stopping other people taking such kind of illegal act in the future? I can say that Mr. Majeed is also doing injustice if he ignores such a big fraud. He should think over again on his one sentence decision. This kind of flexibility have already destroyed our country. We think that nothing happens if we violate traffic rules, destroy public assets etc. All these bad happening in Pakistan is the result of lawlessness.
PTI government claiming in bringing revolution in every sector in KPK should see this poor state of lawlessness in such a prominent institution. We are fed up with their mere claims of “Tabdeeli”. We need some sort of solid proof.
An Australian newspaper reported that a person damaging a tree in street was fined Rs. 10282867.52 (The Age Victoria, 7th Jan 2011). Compare this with our system. Here I am not expecting protecting trees in streets all over Chitral but I request authorities (including the judicial system) that they make sure their kids get quality education. If you are unable to do your duty properly then my few words during your last few seconds of life will be “You failed to give your successors (kids) a proper place to live in, I will try to make this country better place for my successors(kids)”.

this poor writer in the beginning has wrongly written, ‘Memar a-Qaum’ founder of a nation, it is wrong Mr. anonymous. It is the start you have made a blunder, make courage to write your correct name. blowing your own trumpet, you can not justify the wrong you are pleading?

Most of articles in the esteemed online newspaper are part of media cell. Carey is herself a journalist and she knows how to mould public opinion. That’s why she has set up a propaganda cell. Articles are written by a particular person and then sent to the online newspaper whereby they are published under different names.Just imagine, people don’t have that much time to ponder over more important issues but here deliberate attempts are being made in order to create the impression that Carey has got a strong support here. But the fact of matter is quite opposite as the more you try to make the propaganda the more it fires back. Don’t you know it is the Langlands Endowment Trust that controls everything because all the funds belong to it. In case this fund is freezed then it will punture the ego of Carey, its BoG and pro carey lobby. So stop this propaganda.Let me tell you man proposes but God disposes.

    Beautiful article.
Mr. Abdullah used to tell us fabricated stories about our great Quaid-e-Azam. We were too young to know anything but respect our great Quaid, but our well learned teacher always tried to brainwash us against him just because he belonged to a different sect of Islam. Likewise, he used to say very bitter things about the different sects living in Chitral.
Now I wanna ask him ‘If he himself is a true believer and pious Muslim then why did he go for this corruption/dishonesty in the holy month of Ramadan?’
