PESHAWAR: The executive committee of Anjuman Taraqi-e-Khowar Peshawar chapter elected its office-bearers for the next three years.
The election as held during a meeting of the committee presided over by Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail Wali. Traders’ community leader Sadiq Amin Chitrali was the chief guest on the occasion. The meeting was also attended by a large number of members of the Anjuman.
During the meeting, the outgoing president of the Anjuman, Saeed Ahmed Saeed and presented a report about the working of the Anjuman during the last three years. Patron-in-chief of the Anjuman, Qazi inayat jalil, also spoke.
Later, the participants elected Meherban Elahi Hanfi as the president and Syed Ibrahim Shah Tair as general secretary.
The other office-bearers included Fazle Naeem Naeem, senior vice president; Khair Muhammad Sohail, vice president; Muhammad Zafar Masroor, vice president; Abdullah Shahab, joint secretary; Muhamamd Ghffar Atif, finance secretary, and Yahya Andaleeb, secretary information.
Besides, Qazi Inayat Jaleel was elected as the patron-in-chief and Khawaja Saeed Ahmed Saeed as the convener.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted steps to be taken for the promotion of the Khowar language.
The meeting also offered Fateha for those killed in the PK-661crash on Dec 7.
