GILGIT, April 10: As a result of successful negotiations between government officials and the kidnappers, around 33 people who were kidnapped and made hostages during riots in Hunza-Nagar valley have been recovered safely.
Sources told a private news channel that the captors released the abductees after official negotiators brought them around successfully. The abductees were released from Nagar and would reach their homes in Gilgit soon.
A civil judge and a health officer are also among the released abductees. Sources also said that all the people recovered were in good health. During April 3 riots, more than 20 people were killed in Gilgit and Chilas in sectarian attacks. Several vehicles were also torched.
