Another ordeal for mobile phone users

BOONI, Jan 30: Thousands of subscribers using mobile telephone services of different companies in upper Chitral are unable to get their thumb impressions verified as there is no system in the whole area. The government has directed all the mobile phone users to get their biometric verification by February 25 failing which their SIM would be blocked. However, none of the mobile service providers, including Ufone, Zong and Warid, in upper Chitral have the verification system. As a result, the subscribers are forced either to go to Chitral and get their SIMS verified or wait for the blockade of the facility. The subscribers said that the companies should immediately install the biometric verification system in order to save them from the ordeal of travelling to and from Chitral to accomplish the requirement.–S.N.
